World Cup goes on for France - Allez les Bleus
Wow, what a game. I was watching France vs. Spain on big screen as most of the games with a bunch of friends. Nobody was betting a cent on France but me as you can see in yesterday´s predictions. Spain got the lead early in the first half by penalty shot. A real good one by Villa. France made it to 1-1 in the 42th minute and it made me happy that it was Ribery who scored because he was the one that could have scored at least 3 goals so far in this World Cup but he wasn´t that lucky so far. What have we learned from Brazil vs. Ghana?
1.) Brazil´s now among the best 8 teams of this World Cup also known as the Quarter-Finals.
2.) Ghana did very well but was lacking of what every african team was lacking during this World Cup - GOALS. They just didn´t manage to get the ball into the box. They definitely deserved a goal. Brazil on the other hand did what they´re famous for. A few genious moments made the result seem very, very clear. Business as usual.
3.) The Seleção does have a lot of undisclosed reserves. In the quarter-finals they might have to crack it up a notch in order to be able to beat France eventually.

There is a World Cup game in play and you don´t have a TV in sight or you´re not in the stadium (so I get you´re not Mr. World Cup) you might wanna check out the ASCII World Cup. It shows the World Cup games generated in ASCII style. Ok, most of the time it´s all about guessing what you see but it´s still fun. Check it out.

Today we´re all set to watch the last two matches of the round of the last 16. We have the alltime favorite Brazil playing against the surprising Ghana and the World Cup winner of 1998 France playing Spain. Especially the last of these two games sounds pretty good on the board but until now the so called favorites did not play their best football. But now we´re in the finals and everyone has to do something about it in order to advance further into the tournament. So please guys prove me wrong. Read more
One of the best World Cup goals I´ve seen
This is Maxi Rodriguez scoring the decisive 2-1 for Argentina against Mexico. A goal that makes up for a slightly boring game last Saturday. This one has been scored in the 98th minute. Mexico couldn´t do anything about it up from then. Argentina will now play Germany in the quarter-finals.

No commentsWhat have we learned from Italy vs. Australia?
1.) Italy plays awkward football. Turtling in their own half waiting for one chance to score the final 1-0. Boring! This is sooo oldschool guys. What the heck is wrong? You played nice games before the World Cup, why not during?
2.) Once again a referee decided a game and it was again not one of the good decisions. Damn. Read more

We´re on the third day of the round of the last 16 and we have another two games to be played. One of the favorites - Italy - is playing its match against Australia the most surprising team of this World Cup (along side with Ghana I´d say). The other game is Switzerland against Ukraine, a match that has no favorite if you ask me, but we´ll see. Here are my daily bets guys. Read more
What have we learned from Portugal vs. Netherlands?
1.) Firstly, the most annoying fact is that England might play in the semi-finals without having played 1 (!) decent game. If everything goes wrong they face a Portugal without Deco, Christiano Ronaldo and Costinha. Not to mention all the players that already have 1 yellow card (Figo etc.).
2.) Ruud von Nistelrooy is no longer Netherland´s first choice forward!?
3.) Teams that are playing with one forward only are not that likely to win.

Wow, I´d definitely call that nice work. If only England´s team would show a little more effort. [
