Ronaldo did it
Yesterday Ronaldo scored his 15th World Cup goal and therefore is now the one and only player that has ever scored that much goals in all his World Cup appearances. He outdid Gerd Muller´s 32-year-old record. The goal machine himself is not that keen that it was his record though. The Bratwurstgang has a nice quotation for that matter:
I’ve always said that I wasn’t the record-holder. That honour, for me, goes to Just Fontaine, who scored 13 goals in one tournament.
And it´s true. Of course Ronaldo now owns this record but Just Fontaine scored 13 goals in one tournament, Gerd Muller 14 in two and now Ronaldo scored his 15th at his 3rd appearance. It´s just different.
