Can one player carry all the hope?
A few days back I had a conversation with two of my mates at my football club and we were discussing who´s gonna win this summer. It´s a usual thing we talk like everytime about football and what happened lately in the world of soccer. This time we came across a very interesting topic which I made the headline of this post as well. Can one player carry all the hope? Or even better can only one player be responsible for a country´s performance at World Cup?
Our intention was to discuss young Wayne´s injury and he´s gonna recover from it. There has been a lot “Oh my god” in the press. Without him England shouldn´t be able to do anything or something like that. That´s crap if you ask me. Of course Wayne Rooney is a very talented striker, but England isn´t set to fail without him my friends. I agree on another statement that I read this week, though.
England might have the strongest team since 1966,
That´s possibly true. And given that it should be possible to adequately replace young Wayne if needed. Michael Owen is said to be able to play so there you go. Rooney is so young he will confidently play at at least 2-3 World Cups so please don´t put all the hope for England´s performance in Germany on him. The Lions will do fine, believe you me.
